File Fabric hosted Review:

File Fabric hosted Review:

Storage Made Easy (SME) is not a well known storage offering. It takes a
totally different concept than Dropbox, Google Drive and most of the other
business services you will find in the cloud storage market in that it enables
you to aggregate your existing storage (multi-cloud) and/or provides storage
hosted on Amazon S3 if required.
Businesses can connect any cloud service such as Amazon S3, Azure or
Google Storage, and then connect it to the File Fabric, turning it into a single
pane of glass solution, syncing files across devices and sharing files with
others. Not only does that make the File Fabric comparable to many of the
picks in our best cloud storage guide, that’s just the tip of the iceberg of
what it can do.
In this review, we will discuss the key features, including security, plus
taking a look at the price and basic business user experience. If you’d like to
see if the File Fabric makes sense as a secure storage collaboration and
storage management solution for your business, you can try it before buying
by signing up for a free personal plan or 14-day business trial.

SME Features

One of the great features of this File Fabric service is the seamless search
across all clouds. Users are able to search for a file across all of the mapped
storage providers simultaneously. This feature saves time for searching for a
file across individual storage clouds.

Other features include:
 Rich Web File Explorer works from your browser
 Windows, Mac and Linux desktop Apps
 Easily Create collaboration groups and workspaces across storage
 Mobile apps for: iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows phone
(although Windows Phone and blackberry are obviously deprecated
 Office Software Integration
 Business Governance and Compliance for compliance regimes such as
 File versioning, locking and built in ransomware protection, although
you need to set this up.

Price & Plan:

The company offers various software offerings. This review is focused on the
hosted solution but SME also offers enterprise solutions that can be run
directly on-site or in a business’s data centre or on an IaaS solution such as
Amazon or Azure.

One of the main features of the File Fabric is security. For example even if
you use the File Fabric with a storage service that doesn’t encrypt files at
rest on the server-side, the File Fabric will let you privately encrypt any files
using FIPS certified encryption protecting the files in the event of a direct
breach of the storage site.
Storage Made Easy also provides some Amazon S3 storage in the event
business have none to start with. The File Fabric does not actually store any
files in the Storage Made Easy data center, so users don’t have too many
concerns about data security, except for the possible issues that come with
file sharing but the File Fabric offers ultra-secure file sharing with password
protection, time expiry and download limitations (in addition to the
encryption already mentioned).

Support will always play a vital role for any service provider. Storage Made
Easy provides several types of support to its user which are given below:
 Live chat with sales
 Email for technical help
 Skype support
 They also have a bank of information in their FAQs, Wiki pages and
community forums.

Our Experience:

I have been testing the solution for the last two months – the File Fabric is
easily one of the top in terms of reliability and quality, by far.
Within that time frame, I am more than satisfied with this multi-cloud
storage management solution.

Final Recommendation:

With all of this in mind, let’s get down to the big question: “Would we
recommend it?” And the answer to this is a resounding and absolute “YES”. The File Fabric is a value-oriented, transparent, and in my opinion highly-reputable Cloud
Storage tool solution for business use.
